Just Call Me the Dog Rescuer
March 1, 2009 at 1:51 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentTags: dog rescuer, unemployed urban wanderer
On my daily, random walk yesterday I rescued another dog. I know, it’s crazy. This is the second dog in two weeks. I rounded a corner and there in front of me was a Collie. It barked at me and then I followed it for half a block until it ran up the walk of a house. Long story short, it was the house of the dog’s owner and the owner wasn’t aware of the dog’s truancy.
I tried to keep walking on down the street, but I felt I had an obligation to the dog and it’s owner, so I turned around to ring the door bell.
People just can’t help doing what they were meant to do. I guess I was meant to wander around the streets of Minneapolis like a homeless man, not looking for lost dogs but stumbling upon them anyway.
Because, who has the time to rescue a poor defenseless dog like the unemployed urban wanderer?
